The Vard sisters launched onto the Irish music scene in 1997 and proved an overnight sensation.
After signing to Sony Music Ireland and selling more than 200.000 copies of their debut album “Heavenly” went triple platinum, unprecedented for a debut album in Ireland.
Since then the girls have been busy entertaining everyone from presidents to pop royalty both at home and abroad. And have released two further albums “Follow Your Heart” and “Time of Change” which have been hugely popular.
After the success they had with their first album Heavenly, which went quadruple platinum. They appeared on TV in both Ireland the UK on prime time programmes such as the Late Late Show, Open House, Ireland AM, Richard and Judy, GMTV, The John Daly Show, Kelly, MTV Europe Irish Special and Light Lunch.
As their reputation grew they performed at many prestigious venues including the dinner in honour of Bill Clinton at the American Ambassador’s Residence and Dublin Castle.
The girls also appeared with many of Ireland’s top singers including Westlife for the Westlife Christmas Special Concert in the Temple Theatre and with Finbarr Wright in the Cork Opera House and the University Concert Hall / Limerick. A recording, (a P.B.S. TV Special) in Germany in February 2002 which went out coast to coast in the US.
In addition to working with home artists they also worked with the Bayer Choir from Germany, which is the largest male choir in the world, their highly successful concert in the National Concert Hall, insured an invitation for them to sing with the choir, in three of their concerts in Germany.
They have played to capacity houses in the National Concert Hall, Cork Opera House, the Gaeity Theatre and practically every Cathedral in Ireland.
