Relaxation Exercises Pre Performance
1. Loosening the shoulders and neck:
Gently push the shoulder blades together and feel the front of the chest opening (repeat 3 times)
Lift the shoulders slightly and then release them (repeat 3 times)
Allow the head to drop lightly on to the chest and then move the head in a circular motion to the right slowly return to the centre and then move to the left. Repeat 3 times.
2: Loosening the Jaw:
Take your hands up to your cheekbones and gently “stroke” your jaw downwards. Allow your mouth to open as you move your hand downwards. Check that you do not “force” your mouth open, allow this to happen naturally.
Do several times.
Yawning:- is excellent for releasing jaw tension. Do not stifle yawns enjoy them. Imagine the jaw is heavy and let its weight carry it downwards. Feel the separation of the teeth. Monitor whether or not the teeth are clenched, if so release the jaw
Chewing:- Chew as if you have a big toffee sweet use exaggerated movements up and down and circular movements
3. Lip and Tongue:-
Purse the lips and circle them 5 to 6 times.
Circle the lips with the tongue. 5 to 6 times to the right and then to the left.
