As a member of the Vard Sisters and as a solo artist signed to Sony Music Ireland, Cathy has over 30 years experience as a professional singer and recording artist.
She has been giving teaching lessons to professional and complete beginners for over 10 years.
Cathy’s teaching methods can be applied to any genre of music from pop, rock, folk, classical, country and jazz.
Cathy enjoys teaching all forms of music and her satisfaction in teaching comes from students reaching and succeeding at their goals in the musical styles they are most interested in.
In addition to her her extensive voice training Cathy has also studied many other methods to help enhance her musical ability. Particularly the Alexander Technique, Speech Therapy and Thai Chi.
These other disciplines introduce a holistic side to her training.
Cathy has had extensive voice training over the years including:
- Royal Irish Academy of Music where she studied with Paul Deegan.
- The College Of Music with Peter Mc Brien.
- The Ballyfermot School Of Music and with Evelyn Dowling.
- Trained with Sylvia O’Regan who is a Lecturer in Singing at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
- Cathy has also recently trained with two of the top vocal coaches in America.
The Vard Sisters
The Vard Sisters, launched onto the Irish music scene some ten years ago and proved an overnight sensation. After the success they had with their first album Heavenly, which went quadruple platinum. They appeared on TV in both Ireland the UK.
My Studio is located on College Park Avenue, just off the Ballinteer Road. It is very convenient for all of South Dublin and Wicklow with easy access to the M50 motorway. The studio is easily accessible by car or public transport.
